 High school went by so fast and it's hard to believe I'm already in grade 12. I enjoyed every year! Each year I really looked forward to volleyball. I played all 4 years while in high school and I'm very happy I did. These two young ladies were with me all throughout high school and were out there to win. I wouldn't of had the best 4 years if it was for these 2. As of today we have 1 game left and playoffs. It went by waay to fast and I'm gonna miss it.

Delicious healthy quinoa salad

A delicious quinoa salad I made during summer. I was all about the healthy food during summer and experimented with my food choice. 

This salad consists of quinoa boiled in water, peppers, carrots, and celery Pan fried, topped on fresh spinach. The dressing was a light balsamic vinaigrette with honey and peanuts. A summer lunch that was easy and healthy.

living life as a herbivore

If i were to spend the rest of my life as a carnivore or a herbivore i would definitely choose a herbivore. I am a huge vegetable fan. I could definitely live off plants if i had to. I enjoy every type of vegetable and could eat them any time of day. Living without meat would be easy for me. Picking out of a garden and snacking on a carrot is a piece of cake. Hunting down an animal and killing it would be way to difficult for me. I don't think my world would change that much if i chose to be a herbivore. I could be healthier and more energetic if i gave it up. I enjoy bacon and love steak but bacon is very bad for you. It would be interesting and maybe a good idea.

Quick write- robot

My future robot would be the coolest robot ever. It wouldn't be  just a typical metal machine, it would actually look human. It would be a girl just so she knows how the female brain thinks. You know, be neat and tidy and have great style. Her name would be Amanda.  She would have long brown hair and wear the most recent fashions.  This servent would do everything I say. She would respect me and act like my bestfriend. She wouldn't have any powers because I'd like her as human as possible. She'd enjoy cleaning and enjoy being tidy. 

The fall season

This photo was taken while I was driving down Bruce sometime at the en of September. Fall is my favourite time of year because everything blends together. The oranges, yellows, reds, somehow all combine in an artsy way. Walking outside in the morning smelling the fresh air and feeling that warm but awakening breeze is comforting. I enjoy the hot beaming sun in summer but love the look of the fall season. I posted this picture on my blog because I wanted to share my thoughts about the season. I wanted everyone to see how gorgeous fall can be and that it's not just a season that leads into the cold winter

Six Word Memoirs De-brief

What did I learn about storytelling?
While working on my six word memoirs I got stuck plenty of times. I am someone who needs to write with tons of detail and has to explain every point.   Either having 7 words or 5, coming up with just 6 was actually really tough. I ended up finishing all 8 and realizing that storytelling doesn't always have to be told in novel form or 10 pages long.  It can simply be told within 6 words.
Where did I show my knowledge about using storytelling skills?
I used my knowledge about storytelling skills when I had to figure out what words to use while writing my six word memoirs. I wanted to make my six words fit nicely and tell the story exactly how I read it.  I had to move and change words around. because they didn't go well in my sentence. Certain words I chose told the story differently and changed the meaning completely.
What did I learn as a reader, writer, thinker, storyteller?
As a reader I definitely learned that six words can explain a lot. They can tell a story and describe an event in a very short form yet still meaningful. I also learned to read the sentence in different ways and try to figure out the broad meaning behind the six words. As a writer I learned to take my time and figure out what word fits where. I also learned that not every idea and thought has to be expressed in a lot of detail.

"Will always forgive but won't forget? 

This quote was used because there are many mistakes I have made that i forgive myself for. They have happened and are over with but will always be with me. I will always remember those stupid and crazy times I have had. I chose to use a picture I took of the sky while flying because when I'm on a plane all I do is think. There's  too much time while flying and everything just comes back to mind. I added the moon and star because when my family and I go on trips it seems to be always at night. I prefer to fly at night. I darkened the picture because I thought it would go with the white lettering.

This one picture means a lot to me. Me and my bestfriend Katherine on the first day of school. I chose to use this photo because when I look back at it, it reminds me of all the rough times we have had. I edited my photo this way because I wanted to bring out all the fall colours. My quote is pretty simple. I really couldn't ask for a better bestfriend. She means a lot to me and has been with me through everything. There is an exclamation point at the end of the sentence because I didn't want it to be serious. There's nothing serious when it comes to us friends together. We joke around and are the best of friends.

Confession- "mistakes were made. lessons were learned"

"Mistakes we made, lessons were learned"

I came up with this quote on the spot as soon as we were given the assignment. After, I came back to it and wasn't sure what I should write. I could write a thousand stories of when I forgave people for their mistakes, but didn't actually forget about it. Or I could write about the times I forgave myself for the mistakes I've made and still have troubles forgetting them. I chose this quote because it gets me thinking about all the time I have taken to beat myself up over the mistakes I've made, instead of taking the time to correct them. This picture I took is of a path and a bridge at my cabin. I thought it went great with the meaning of this quote. The path leads you to a bridge and on the other side everything is unknown. You set yourself up and lead yourself to the bridge and have a chance to restart once you get over. I added the boarder on my photo because I didn't want to make the quote and photo too serious. The font went well because it looks mysterious.

Me- "have confidence, trust yourself and achieve"

 

"Have confidence, trust yourself and achieve" 

To me this quote is very simple. To achieve you must have confidence and trust yourself. I chose these words because confidence is key in my life. I work hard and believe I can accomplish anything. The picture I chose was of me and my horse jumping at a horse show. This picture was chosen because horse jumping isn't as easy as it looks. In order to get over the fence you must trust your horse, and your horse must trust you. My horse won't jump if he doesn't have confidence in himself and can feel i don't. I converted the photo to black and white because it was a blurry photo to begin with and it was easier to see in black and white. Words were listed so I added a comma.

Love- " love can't be just a dream"

"Love can't be just a dream?"

This photo that I chose is a picture of a heart shaped rock. This rock means a lot to me but has a really long story. It is too hard to explain and would be confusing to the viewer. The heart shaped rock was found at my cabin randomly in the water. I used these in the quote because everyone is forever saying love is just a dream and doesn't exist. "It's only in your dreams" I don't believe that. You think it's just a dream because what's happening is exactly what you want to happen. To me the don't I used was fairytale looking. It reminded me of a cute Disney movie. I didn't add punctuation because I thought it flowed and sounded a lot better without any. I enhanced and brightened the photo because when I'm with the one person I love my mood changes and everything gets brighter.

Future- "ready to start a new chapter!"

I am really looking forward to start my career and move in a new direction. I used this quote because I can't wait to see what happens next and start a new chapter in my life. I hope to be in university and study paramedicine. I just decided at the beginning of this school year that that's the path I'm headed down. Get Into medicine and help people. My photo is of a big H and the word hospital because that's where I will be working. It gives the viewer an idea about what I'll be studying. The letters are bold to make them more visible and stand out more. There's and exclamation point because it shows that I am excited. This quote is one of my favourites out of my 8. Growing up seems to be a scary thing but I can't wait.

"No we definitely aren't just sisters"

I chose this quote because the relationship my sister and I have is extremely strong. Unlike other siblings, my sister and I hardly fight or disagree. We help each other out and she guides me in the right direction. This photo was used because to me it shows our bond. Sure anyone can take a photo of two siblings holding hands and say we love each other. Our picture is different. This photo reminds me of how much I look up to her and how much we've been through. I used the comma in my quote because I wanted a pause before the actual meaning behind it. The boarder was used because I wanted to make the picture look fun since we are at the beach. The photo was darkened to add a different feel in the scene.

"You gotta live life and dream". I used this quote because I believe in order to live life you must dream and live life to the fullest. This photo was taken at my cabin, summer or 2012 at Victoria Beach. I used it because when your standing in the sand, looking at the lake, it looks endless. It got me thinking about how similar life could be. If you dream and live life to the fullest you could accomplish and achieve anything. I thought that the colours in my photo were perfect the way they are so I didn't bother editing it in anyway. Pasted the text and left it just the way it was.
